We are happy to inform you we have re-joined the South Jersey Independent Youth Football Association. This is the league we were in prior to last season. So we are back to playing in a league that is governed by age and weight. Players age for the season is whatever age they are on September 1st.
Ages 5-6 up to 65 Lbs
Ages 7-8 up to 80 Lbs
Ages 9-10 up to 95 Lbs
Ages 11-12 up to 110 Lbs
Ages 13-14 up to 125 Lbs
Ages 13-14 No weight restrictions
GYF will only be accepting NEW players this season who live in Barrington, Lawnside and Haddon Heights. Let us be clear, if you played for Garnet Youth Football in the past and do not currently live in Barrington, Lawnside or Haddon Heights, you are welcome to continue playing with us. Going forward, GYF will not be accepting NEW players who do not live in one of the 3 towns. GYF’s commitment has always been to work with Haddon Heights High School as their feeder program. GYF believes this shows a commitment on our part that we are focused on continuing our goal.
GYF needs your help! Registration deadline will be July 15, 2013. Registration will be online at our website, www.garnetyouthfootball.com. We will send an email out in the next week or so telling you we are open for registration. If you can not register online we will send out mailing instructions. Registration will end on July 15, 2013. We will not be accepting any registration after the deadline regardless of our numbers. If you are committed to helping GYF be successful, please register early, we assured the league we would have our numbers in by then.
Registration fee – $125 per player
GYF will provide 1 mouth guard and a game Jersey for you to keep.
GYF will provide use of helmet, shoulder pads and game pants, to be returned at end of season.
GYF will also include with registration a two day football camp with Coach Schiavo and his staff. Coach Schiavo is head varsity football coach at Haddon Heights High School. The camp will be on July 24th and July 25th from 6pm to 8pm. This will be a great opportunity for our players to interact with the high school coaches while learning to play football and its free with your registration.
We also know for some who want to try football but just aren’t sure, paying $125 is expensive. We are offering to refund $100 to any player who decides not to play up until the beginning of the 3rd week of practice or August 19, 2013. The $25 you don’t get back is for insurance and GYF does not get that back from the insurance company. There will be no refunds for any reason after August 19th.
If by the July 15th registration deadline we do not have enough players signed up to field all the teams. GYF will refund those players on the team we don’t have enough players for, the whole $125 registration fee. This will give those players enough time to play for another organization.
